| One day Francesca’s 12 year old daughter, Elizabeth Harmon, discovers a meteorite while on holiday in the desert and declares that her name is Padma. The next day a delegation of Bon leaders (Tibetan shamans) appears at the family’s Los Angeles home declaring that Padma has called them. The religious leaders want Elizabeth to learn their traditional ways in a boarding school in Bhutan. Francesca has fought hard to bring her daughter into the world and refuses to let them take her daughter. But when the surrogate mother that Francesca and her husband Dylan used to give birth to their daughter reveals that she is a Bon and that the girl is her spiritual child, the life of Elizabeth Harmon is thrown into turmoil.
