A short synopsis |
One moment, the novel's heroine, Francesca Verena, is a cynical 32 year old New Yorker, betrayed, unemployed and living on her friend’s couch. The next moment she finds herself sitting on a platform, high up in a redwood, interviewing a 175 year old woman, Juanita Sanchez, who believes that she has learned the secret to longevity from the trees. Juanita also thinks that Francesca offers a chance to make amends for an event that has haunted her for over 100 years. Francesca is naturally skeptical of Juanita's claims. But when her fortunes radically change for the better, she begins to believe that perhaps anything is possible -- until everything goes horribly wrong. Then, in order to repair the pieces of her shattered life, she must learn the secrets of the Redwood Oracle.
The Redwood Oracle weaves a delightful tale that immerses you in a world filled with magic, mystery and adventure.
